Infant-Toddler Therapy Services We Provide
Occupational Therapy
Our Occupational Therapists will assist your child in learning and improving fine motor skills in order for him to draw, play with blocks and other toys, manipulate puzzles and feed/dress himself.
Our Occupational Therapists provide assistance during mealtimes to coordinate utensil use and drinking skills, as well as to help improve tolerance for and ability to eat different types and textures of foods.
Our Occupational Therapists use sensory integration techniques to help children who have difficulty
with the sensations of touch, movement, sight, sound, taste and smell.
Our Occupational Therapist have the ability to recommend splints or other adaptive equipment that might help your child become more independent.
Our Occupational Therapist have specialized training in infant massage to help improve muscle tone, body awareness and digestions (constipation/colic).
Physical Therapy
Our Physical Therapists will assist your child to develop strength, endurance, mobility, flexibility, balance and coordination.
Our Physical Therapists help children learn to move and play throughout their home and community.
Our Physical Therapists can assess the need for bracing, positioning equipment and walking aids.
Our Physical Therapists specialize in movement, posture and gait analysis, helping your child become more independently mobile.
Our Physical Therapists will provide you with exercises and techniques that are specific for your child and will teach you how to use them in everday activities.
Speech Therapy
Our licensed Speech Pathologists will help your child develop the skills and knowledge to communicate with family members and peers.
Our Speech Pathologists will assist your child to develop sounds, learn words and increase understanding of language through therapy and play.
Our Speech Pathologists can incorporate sign language and the use of pictures into your program as appropriate.
Our Speech Pathologists are trained to assess and treat oral motor function related to speech and feeding.
Special Instruction
Our Special Instruction Teachers will focus on your child's overall development. They specialize in helping your child in his natural surroundings and everyday routines.
Our Special Educators address a child's social and emotional development including attention to task, following directions, and interacting positively with others.
Our Special Educators work to improve cognitive skills through therapeutic play.
Our Special Educators provide information to increase their awareness of important developmental milestones.
Nutrition
Our Registered Dietician will help you and your child with nutrition or feeding concerns.
Our Dietician may address weight gain or loss, tube feedings, or issues related to a disease or diagnosis such as Diabetes or Cystic Fibrosis, ect.
Our Dietician will educate your family about possible solutions to your child's nutrition-related issues as well as monitor the child's nutritional status.
Hearing (Our Hearing Teachers are contracted through the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf)
Our Hearing Teacher will help your child maximize his use of residual hearing through auditory training. Our Hearing Teachers aid in the development of a solid language base (spoken and/or signed) for successful communication and learning. Our Hearing Teachers provide families with support and resources in hearing aid and cochlear implant management.
