The Infant Stimulation Program provides Early Intervention services to children birth to 3 years of age who have a developmental delay or disability.  Your child's pathway to development can be challenging at times.  Working as a team Infant Stimulation Program Staff will provide a holistic approach to your child's therapy.  We work with your family as a whole, as every member plays a special role in your child's life.  Our Licensed/Qualified Therapists and Teachers are constantly working to improve the services we provide to families by attending the most cutting edge trainings and seminars available.  Let us help your child develop to his/her fullest potential.

There are five areas of development that we focus on:

  • Gross and Fine Motor Skills: sitting, walking, crawling, jumping, puzzles, grasping objects and turning pages in a book.
  • Adaptive: Independent feeding, drinking and dressing.
  • Communication: Following directions, pointing to objects and talking.
  • Cognitive: Thinking, reasoning and understanding directions.

  • Hearing/Vision: Monitoring a child’s vision and hearing development.

We have licensed Occupational Therapists and Physical Therapists, licensed Speech Language Pathologists, a registered Dietician, Special Educators and a Vision Therapist.  We also contract with The Western PA School for the Deaf for hearing services. All of our therapists display a variety of expertise and knowledge of their discipline. The program is a family centered parent-teaching program.  The therapists go out into the community to see the children in their natural environment, such as the home, daycare, and community settings.  We service children in Butler County.

The program is funded by three different sources, based on the child’s insurance and needs.  The three funding sources are County MH/MR, Infant Toddler Waiver Services, and Medical Assistance.  This service is at no cost to families and does not tap into a family’s private insurance coverage.

If you have any questions regarding this program, please contact Melanie Mitro at 724-283-3198.

"The Therapist provided a high level of skill related to assessing and implementing the needs for my child.  They also provided a level of supportive therapy that was sincere and caring.  They all made some difficult experiences much easier to cope with.  All of his therapists will forever hold a special place in our hearts."        -Steve Cooper
